Perennials

"Perennial of the Year" is
Chelone Lyonii (Turtlehead)
This perennial likes part sun and moist soil.  There is one planted east of our potting shed at The Petal Patch.  This is a fall blooming plant with unique hot pink flowers that resemble a turtles head.

Hemerocallis (Daylily) "Raspberry Suede" Raspberry Red Flowers, unusually smooth and a velvety texture like suede.  Full/ Part Sun

Heuchera (Coral Bells) "Berry Smoothie"
Sounds good, doesn’t it?  Foliage emerges bright pink and darkens to a purplish- rose, white flowers.

Heuchera (Coral Bells) "Obsidian"
Deep purple black leaves, undersides are purple. Smokey buds open to white flowers.  Sun-part shade –shade

Liriope (Blue Lilyturf) "Big Blue"
Evergreen, grass-like plant, purple flowers that look like hyacinths.  This perennial is a nice clump former which takes part sun to shade.

Malva (Hollyhock Mallow) –"Purple Satin"
Long blooming and heat tolerant.  This plant sports dark pink flowers with purple veins.

Mukdenia (Red Leafed Mukdenia)
This is a unique perennial for part shade.  Green leaves with starry white flowers in the spring. In the summer the leaves begin to turn deep red around the edges and are fire red by fall

Salvia  “Madeline”
How about a different colored salvia-one with blue and white flowers that re-blooms if cut back.  This salvia has an upright habit and is an early summer bloomer.

Hibiscus –"Cranberry Crush"
This plant forms a nice short clump.  Black buds open to glossy, deep scarlet red, 7-8” flowers.  3-4 foot tall.  Blooms mid-summer to early fall in full sun.

This is just a partial listing of what The Petal Patch has to offer.  If you are interested in natives, please ask us to show you what we have to offer.  Butterfly Weed, Lead Plant, Purple Coneflowers, and Virginiana Obedient Plants are just a few available this year.

We strive to bring you high-quality, unusual plants at reasonable prices all season long!
